Ford Mustang 390 GT fastback

Art photographer Amaury Soares celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the film Bullitt with an exceptional work.

A well-known artist in the automotive world, photographer Amaury Soares has chosen to celebrate the 50th birthday of the film "Bullit" in his own way. Through a hundred shots, he breaks down and reconstructs the legendary Ford Mustang 390 GT fastback, the film's secondary hero, alongside Steve McQueen.

The Ford Mustang 390 GT fastback at the heart of his work

The works of Amaury Soares have found a place among car collectors and art galleries around the world, from London to Singapore. The man is passionate about beautiful mechanics; he focuses on legendary models and reinterprets them through his style and avant-garde techniques.

2018 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Bullitt, which birthed generations of Steve McQueen fans and automotive enthusiasts alike. In 1968, the Ford Mustang 390 GT fastback, in green, captured the attention of millions of views for over 10 minutes, propelling the car to the status of both cinematographic and automotive icon.

It was therefore natural for the artist to decide to pay homage to this iconic american racing car, placing it at the heart of his new photographic work.

Limited Edition prints

Using a hundred shots, the artist recomposes the Ford Mustang Bullit and offers a dreamlike and contemplative vision of the car. It freezes time and brings out what was lurking in the shade, sublimating every detail and subtle element. This work shows us a very personal vision, a mental representation of the car, 50 years after first seeing it.
