Austin Healey was one of the most iconic brands of British sports cars of its time. Only three models emerged between 1953 and 1971: the Austin-Healey 100, the Austin Healey 3000, and the Austin Healey Sprite, each of which was developed in several evolutions. The Austin Healey has a rich past in motor racing with several notable victories such as the Alpine Cup in 1961 and 1962, the Irish circuit in 1963, and the Geneva Rally in 1965.
Austin-Healey was born in 1952, with a first sports prototype developed by Donald Healey and his son Geoffrey in the attic of the family home in Austin. During the 20 years of the Austin-Healey existence, only 3 models lived, making each of them exceptional, rare and particularly coveted by collectors, including the 3-liter Austin-Healey 3000, whose international critics It has magnificent proportions, classic and timeless.
Photographer Amaury Soares offers new perspectives of these sports cars of the 1950s. By freezing their curves "so British" in limited numbered and signed prints, the artist cultivates the rarity of these cars of exception.
The Austin Healey is a true icon, and the artist emphasizes it with two facets. The first photography shows the dashboard and the second one is a contemporary composition including the British flag, country of origin of the car.
Amaury Soares proposes us his interpretation of this classic car, by immersing it in the modernity and by decomposing it from every corner to better recompose it. Therefore, we can take advantage of each detail from this famous British car.
We find the Cubism influences of Amaury Soares which permits him to create his own style, that he calls “Curvism” : A meeting between the surrealism and the mix of curving lines, that gives to his artworks a real dynamism.
Great Car Enthusiast, Amaury Soares can deal with another collector british classic cars as the Aston Martin DBS, the Aston Martin DB5, or the Jaguar XK. He is also open to put forward more modern cars as the gorgeous Aston Martin DB11.
