Austin-Healey was born in 1952, with a first sports prototype developed by Donald Healey and his son Geoffrey in the attic of the family home in Austin. During the 20 years of the Austin-Healey existence, only 3 models lived, making each of them exceptional, rare and particularly coveted by collectors, including the 3-liter Austin-Healey 3000, whose international critics It has magnificent proportions, classic and timeless.
Photographer Amaury Dubois offers new perspectives of these sports cars of the 1950s. By freezing their curves "so British" in limited numbered and signed prints, the artist cultivates the rarity of these cars of exception.
The Austin Healey is a true icon, and the artist emphasizes it with two facets. The first photography shows the dashboard and the second one is a contemporary composition including the British flag, country of origin of the car.
Amaury Dubois proposes us his interpretation of this classic car, by immersing it in the modernity and by decomposing it from every corner to better recompose it. Therefore, we can take advantage of each detail from this famous British car.
We find the Cubism influences of Amaury Dubois which permits him to create his own style, that he calls “Curvism” : A meeting between the surrealism and the mix of curving lines, that gives to his artworks a real dynamism.
