"Roadmaster". What a wonderful name for a car. This term had emerged in 1936. It was a perfect term for the high-end Buick, a car bordering the Cadillac Price Area, the favorite vehicle of lawyers, doctors and other upper classes of the time. Buick responded to this clientele who could not afford the luxury of a "Caddy" with an incredible style and by far with the most brilliant cars produced by General Motors.
The Buick Roadmaster Riviera was one of the most luxurious, with a host of innovative design ideas: the popular pop-art grille, the convertible hardtop with no central uprights, and its famous portholes, or Ventiports, a series of 4 openings on The wings above the front wheels.
This model was a serious car, built with integrity and exceptional durability. It was inspired by the design of a World War II fighter aircraft, the Lockheed P-38, adopting a rounded "fuselage" on the sides of the body and ailerons at the rear. With a 152 horsepower engine, the Buick Roadmaster Riviera could exceed 165 km / h.
